Harvey Lee Blackwood, son of Emma Blackwood, was born on October 7, 1959, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on October 12, 2026, at the age of 67. Harvey was a lifelong resident of Westville, Oklahoma, a place he proudly called home throughout his life.
Harvey was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures in life and found his greatest happiness in the outdoors, good company, and the freedom to enjoy each day as it came. He had a love for hunting and fishing, and he especially enjoyed searching for arrowheads. Whether he was walking through the woods, exploring the countryside, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of nature, Harvey always found something worthwhile in the world around him.
One of Harvey's special talents was wood carving. He enjoyed working with his hands and had the patience and creativity to turn an ordinary piece of wood into something meaningful. His carvings were a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and the satisfaction he found in creating something of his own.
Harvey also enjoyed spending time at the casino, where he could relax, have a little fun, and enjoy the excitement of the day. He loved taking long drives, sometimes with no particular destination in mind, simply enjoying the open road and the scenery along the way. For Harvey, it wasn't always about where he was going, but the enjoyment of the journey itself.
Above all, Harvey valued the time he spent with his family and friends. Whether sharing stories, enjoying a visit, or simply being in the company of those he cared about, those moments were an important part of his life. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his creative spirit, and the many memories made with those fortunate enough to know him.
Harvey leaves behind to cherish his memory four sons, Eric Worcester and wife Ann of Lawrence, Kansas, Jeffrey Blackwood of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Brandon Blackwood and wife Kelly of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Russell Blackwood of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Davoghn and Devon; one sister, Alice Wyche of Westville, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Charles Watson of Westville, Oklahoma, and Robert Watson and wife Thresa of Welling, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Harvey was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Blackwood; one daughter, Leah Worcester; and one brother, Karl David Watson.
Though Harvey's earthly journey has come to an end, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he be remembered in the quiet beauty of the outdoors, the winding roads he loved to travel, and the simple moments that made his life uniquely his own.
